Our 4th of July Weekend

We had a fabulous 4th of July! It was our first "weekend away" with Paisley. Man I never realized how much more I would have to pack with a baby! We went to Steinhatchee for 2 days and went scalloping with some friends~ well I stayed on the boat with Paisley while Michael scalloped, due to my dislike of saltwater :P It was a very relaxing trip and Paisley loved being on the boat!

Paisley and Mommy looking at the other boats.

Paisley and Daddy in the water~ She loved her little float!

All our scallops~ we got 22 gallons within 2 days!

Me and my Hubby :) (and my other love~Dr. Pepper)

Wish I could fall asleep anywhere....

After our 2nd day of scalloping we got stuck in the rain and had to ride 4 miles back on the boat in the rain~ it was miserable! I felt so bad, it was freezing rain and wind and I was holding Paisley with her life jacket on and a towel over top of us trying to keep warm! We had to unload off the boat and get all the kids in the car and into dry clothes while the guys loaded up the boat. Michael told me this would be something we would look back at and laugh one day...hmmmm...guess I can laugh now that we are all safe and dry!!

Happy 4th of July! This is after our (delicious) dinner at McDonalds on the way home.

I was a little bummed that we would be driving home on 4th of July night and not get to see fireworks, but we were driving through a little town and there was an awesome firework show! So we drove really slow and got to enjoy it!

This is Paisley enjoying her bottle and the fireworks from inside the car~ Poor baby was so tired!

And this is Paisley on the 5th of July in her adorable outfit I didn't get to dress her in on the 4th!

She is just such a happy baby!

Hope everyone else had a wonderful 4th of July!

Flower Hair Clips and Clip Holder

So...I love crafting when I have time, I started making Paisley these flower clips for her hair and I love the way they look! I was throwing them in a basket in her bedroom and wanted something to display them and keep them in order, so I then made a Clip holder too! This was my first one..so not the best! I'm going to start working on some other ones that will look a lot better than this! But heres the pics of what I have made already :) I have started selling the flowers for $3 each and the bow holders I will be selling for $15 each.

New look for Spring!

So I was trying to think of ways to change my kitchen without painting the cabinets, I'm not that brave yet.... and I wanted to take away some of the dark colors for a more Shabby chic look. I pulled out old decorations from our old house, switched some things around and painted a few things. I tried to not spend any money, the only thing I bought was spray paint! So heres the old look ....

and heres the new look...(the kitchen counter was starting to get full right before my mom in laws bday party) it looks a lot better with the counter clean!

And I also needed to make a place in the house for more pictures since I take soooo many! This project was also cheap- old frames I've had stored away and all I did was spray paint them and distress them! I love this look! I took some of our favorite pics and filled them up! I want to try and find a little sign about family to put in that tiny empty space between the frames to the right- it bugs me too much!

I will have more changes to come~ front porch revamp too!! Happy Friday!

......I never imagined how much my life would change once our baby girl came into the world. She is just the most precious thing ever to live (I know all moms say that but she really is)! After being pregnant for what seemed forever then, now only feels like it was a few days. I loved being pregnant and really enjoyed wearing the cute preggo clothes and showing off my "baby bump". The only part I didn't enjoy was the night time sickness I had around 12 weeks, I couldn't cook, eat or move at night. All I wanted to do was lay on the couch, it wasn't fun but I would do it all over again if I had to.

Michael was the best husband and really helped out a lot when I was pregnant, I knew the day that he decided to build his little girl her crib, that Paisley was going to have the best daddy ever and she was going to have him wrapped around her tiny little finger. He worked so hard for almost 6 months, in the shed all the time and I wasn't allowed to see it until it was completely finished. The anticipation was horrible, but I knew it would be beautiful regardless because it was made by daddy's hands. Little did I know that is was going to be the most beautiful crib ever made. When I finally got to see it, I didn't even cry (which I normally would have bc I'm such an emotional person regardless of being pregnant or not) I was speechless because it was magnificent and overall the most special gift a father could make for his daughter. Michael also painted the whole room with a little help from every family member. He also did a chair rail with white wood strips between the pink stripes and crown moulding at the top of the room. Anything for his little princess :)

On December 15th at 6:00 pm we went to the hospital for me to be induced the next morning, the whole drive over I kept thinking about how the next day our baby girl would be here and wondering about how much our life would change. I started getting anxious and nervous thinking about all the things that could happen or go wrong, I was nervous thinking about the pain I would go through and most of all thinking about getting the stupid IV that I had to get. Before we went into the hospital, we stopped and Michael prayed. I knew God would take care of me and I would have Michael and my momma in the room to comfort me and do anything I needed them to do, but there were the nerves there that wouldn't go away until my Paisley Brooke was here and ok. We got in our room around 8:00 that night and the next morning about 6:30 the dr. came in and broke my water and I was 3 cm. At 8:45 they started hydrating me for my epidural. At 10:00 I was 5 cm and then jumped to 8 cm by 10:30 and got my epidural! I was in Heaven!! At 11:30 I was 10 cm. I slept a little before I started pushing at 1:10, then at 2:20 I REALLY started pushing and then my precious Paisley was born at 3:03 pm on December 16th 2009. She was 7 lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long, at that moment I knew what unconditional love meant and even though I went through the hard pains of labor I would do it all over again, everyday if I had to, to keep my baby girl. I also never knew how much closer Michael and I would be through this whole experience, our love for eachother is so much different and so much stronger now. I thank God everyday for the many blessings he has given me and wonder why I deserve all of them.

The crib Michael built! I was so proud!

This is me 9 months pregnant....wow....I didn't realize how big I was until I looked back at the pictures after I had Paisley!

Michael and I at the hospital- Before my epidural

Our happy little family~ My favorite picture ever~ the meaning of true love.

And now here's my Precious Paisley at 4 Months old~ The most beautiful baby ever :) There's not a thing in this world I wouldn't do for her...she will never know how much she has changed my life.

Wish List

So my birthday is in June and I can't think of anything I want or need besides Vera Bradley, this is the exact way I felt for Christmas...my mom did always call me the "Bag Lady" when I was growing up, so I have to stay true to my name :)

I am in love with this one! These are a few of the new Summer patterns- Make me blush and Call me coral.... I think both of these purses would be great to have!

I also have been looking for some luggage to match and this pattern goes with my favorite pattern Mod floral pink that they have now retired. I'm not sure which one would be a better "carry-on" type bag? This one...............or this one?

And of course the Weekender bag is a must!

I just love online "window shopping"! Now I just need to let my family know what to get me :)
